Development of a quality approach for Électricens sans frontières

Électriciens sans frontières asked Groupe URD to develop a reference framework of good practices for projects to provide access to electricity in rural environments in developing countries. This reference framework, based on the Quality COMPAS method, is built around 12 quality criteria, key actions and a description of what is expected. This has all been compiled in a good practice guide which constitutes a new quality approach which will help to set up and evaluate projects, as well as train staff. This project was conducted in a participatory manner with the whole of the ESF team, in order to make sure that the approach is in keeping with the NGO’s specific way of functioning and to facilitate its adoption by members of the NGO. In keeping with this idea, the tool is illustrated throughout with questions and examples of both good and bad practices.

This Good practice guide will also be of interest to other actors, including the association’s partners, who want to understand how Électriciens sans frontières operates and its commitment to quality.
