Evaluation of Christian Aid’s response in 2004 - 2005 to the food crisis in the Sahel
2006 - 2007
During the summer of 2006, Christian Aid ran an evaluation of its response to the food crisis in the Sahel, looking at operations in Niger, Burkina Faso and Mali. Groupe URD coordinated the evaluation team which was made up of both external consultants and Christian Aid staff.
The evaluation had two parts. In October and November 2006, the focus was the first phase of the project implemented (from August 2005 to April 2006) and the consolidation phase taking place at the time (June 2006 to February 2007). The second part was a final evaluation of the project as a whole.
The evaluation results highlighted the importance of the link between emergency relief and development. The evaluation was carried out using the criteria of the Quality COMPAS© reference framework.
