Evaluation of UNICEF programmes in Darfur

Groupe URD led the mixed team which conducted this evaluation. The team included both members of UNICEF and DFID, the donor. After more than 40 years in the region, UNICEF decided to evaluate some of its programmes following the Darfur crisis of 2003/2004, which provoked the displacement of large numbers of people to Sudan and Chad. This evaluation analysed the efficiency and appropriateness of UNICEF’s emergency preparation plans and operations during the different phases of the crisis.
