Evaluation of violence reduction programmes by the MINUSTAH CVR Section

The Haiti Observatory is conducting the first phase of the evaluation of violence reduction programmes by the MINUSTAH Community Violence Reduction (CVR) Section. Formerly known as the Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reinsertion (DDR) Section, this section is part of most United Nations peacekeeping missions in countries affected by conflicts. This new name shows that local environments are not always suited to standard forms of DDR, and that it is important that peacekeeping missions adapt and innovate.
