Humanitarian evaluation experiences and methods in different contexts
Groupe URD is taking part in a very interesting initiative by DANIDA, the OECD DAC and NORAD, which aims to take stock of evaluation experiences and methods in conflict, peacekeeping, conflict prevention and peace-building contexts.
Groupe URD and Irish Aid’s evaluation unit are to co-write a chapter on Haiti for a book which will also include articles on Sudan, Sri Lanka, DRC, Nepal, Afghanistan, etc. and which is due to be published at the end of the year. A two-day workshop has just taken place in Denmark in DANIDA’s headquarters, which brought together all those who will be contributing to the book for a rigorous peer review exercise. Groupe URD will look for funds so that the book can be translated into French and Spanish, and published in France as part of our “Humanitarian Practices in Question” collection, published by Karthala, in which we have already published a book of this kind in collaboration with ALNAP ("Evaluating international humanitarian action. Reflections from practioners").
