Institutional support for the Palestinian NGO, PMRS

Committed to improving its practices and the quality of the service it provides, the Palestinian Medical Relief Society (PMRS) launched a programme in 2009 to implement a Quality approach. This is being carried out over a number of years with support from Groupe URD and in partnership with Oxfam Solidarité Belgique.
At the end of 2008, the Palestinian NGO, PMRS, took part in an introductory training course on Quality run by Groupe URD. This prompted the management of PMRS to decide to adopt a Quality approach within their organization with the objective of improving their practices and the quality of their programmes aimed at poor sections of the population.
At the beginning of 2009, the PMRS began the process of implementing a Quality approach and asked Groupe URD for help in the form of institutional support. This took place in several stages in order to gradually incorporate Quality Assurance, which was a new concept for PMRS.
Since then, the process has been ongoing within PMRS, with occasional support from Groupe URD for training courses, building the capacity of the new Quality unit, drawing up the Quality Charter, etc.
