Mali at the crossroads between emergency relief and development
Groupe URD is currently in great demand to help humanitarian and development organizations in the transition period that Mali is currently facing.
The study carried out for the World Bank on low population density areas in North Mali will be presented in the coming days at a conference with civil society organisations and a meeting with donors.
The Groupe URD team has taken part in the Mali LRRD seminar organised by the European Union Delegatioin, with representatives of DG ECHO, DG DEVCO and all the technical and financial partners.
At the same time, another Groupe URD team is evaluating the agro-ecological programmes supported by Terre et Humanisme in the Gao area in order, amongst other things, to learn lessons about running this type of development programme in a crisis situation.
In addition, Groupe URD is continuing its discussions with OCHA and the Humanitarian Country team to prepare an action plan on “access and humanitarian space” following the workshop held in February.
Lastly, Groupe URD is finalising the monitoring and evaluation of programmes funded by DFID in Mopti, Timbuktu and Gao.
