Meeting of the Humanitarian Environment Network
The members of the Humanitarian Environment Network will be meeting in Paris on 11 September 2015 to discuss “The levers for change and tools available to improve the way the environment is taken into account in humanitarian action”. How is the environmental question taken into account by humanitarian actors and donors? How can the environment be integrated during the different stages of the project cycle and in the functioning of our organizations? What tools exist? What lessons have been learned from development NGOs? This meeting will be an opportunity to explore these different questions and learn from each other’s experiences. The aim will also be to prepare a series of activities for the network for the coming months, with certain important events coming up - the sustainable development objectives, and the COP 21 – and preparation of the World Humanitarian Summit.
The Humanitarian Environment Network, which was launched in April 2012, aims to promote integration of the environment among member organisations and more widely throughout the humanitarian sector.
