Setting up a database of Haitian evaluators
Since Groupe URD Haiti Observatory was launched in 2012, nearly one hundred people have been trained to evaluate the quality of humanitarian programmes. We are now in the process of setting up a database of Haitian evaluators, notably comprising trained people.
The database will be useful for the evaluators themselves but also for national and international organisations who are trying to set up internal evaluation teams and carry out evaluations, and also for Groupe URD in Haiti.
For the Haitian evaluators and managers, the database will give them more visibility and networking opportunities, and thus improve the sharing of experiences and opportunities within the evaluation sector. This tool will allow Haitian organisations and institutions to look at evaluators’ profiles on-site, and thus recruit Haitian evaluators where appropriate. Finally, this database will help us to improve our monitoring and support services provided to people who have attended our training courses.
