Support in developing indicators for the Cluster Working Group on Early Recovery’s M&E system in Myanmar
Summer 2008, for UNDP
Groupe URD was commissioned to provide methodological support to establish a series of indicators to measure the impact of early recovery activities and propose a monitoring and evaluation system for these activities.
This study was commissioned by the Bureau for Crisis Prevention and Recovery, part of UNDP, which is the principle leader of the Cluster Working Group on Early Recovery set up following Cyclone Nargis. Three Groupe URD researchers travelled to Myanmar to provide support to establish indicators for the Cluster Working Group on Early Recovery’s M&E system.
Our objectives were:
- to propose a list of indicators to systematically measure the impact of Early Recovery activities in Myanmar and identify non-covered needs;
- to make recommendations for the establishment of a M&E system for Early Recovery activities in Myanmar;
- to improve understanding of monitoring and evaluation amongst the different actors involved in Early Recovery in Myanmar;
- to contribute to the development of a generic M&E tool kit for Early Recovery activities, which could be used in other contexts.
