The challenges of emergency relief operations
Groupe URD is increasingly involved in evaluating and helping to improve initial emergency relief operations.
It was part of the United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC) evaluation team alongside civil protection and emergency health specialists.
It also took part in the production of a major lesson sharing document about the challenges during these early stages of an operation focusing on the case of Haiti, with the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO). It provides a wide-ranging assessment of the successes and difficulties which were encountered in the health sector.
