Groupe URD has developed new methodological tools, based on our experience in research, evaluation, analysis and sharing of knowledge. Methodological development is central to the learning cycle, and we have made these tools available to humanitarian actors. They have been developed through consultation with affected populations and humanitarian actors, and through studies conducted in the field over a number of years.

The main tools which we have developed are:
-  ‘The Practitioner's Handbook', based on work carried out for the Global Study on Participation and Consultation of Affected Populations in Humanitarian Action
- The ‘Quality COMPAS©', a quality assurance method specifically designed for humanitarian aid, and the ‘Dynamic COMPAS®', a software programme for managing the quality of humanitarian projects
