Studies and evaluations repeatedly show the importance of staff in the quality of humanitarian action : without the right people, even the best projects will probably fail. What is more, in the last ten years it has become obvious that the sector has to become more professional due to the very high level of staff turnover.

There is therefore a real need at present to produce well-qualified humanitarian actors by offering them training (initial and ongoing) that is both adapted to the needs of the moment and innovative.

Our wish is to contribute meaningfully to the improvement of aid delivered to crisis-affected populations. In this regard we have chosen to take a holistic approach to the key issues facing this diverse and complex profession. Our conception of the quality of work as a constantly changing whole is symbolised by the collective learning cycle. All of our activities have their place somewhere in this cycle. Of these, training is an essential component.
