- Quality COMPAS and Dynamic COMPAS, Kabul, 2-5 December 2007
The course will be conducted in English and is aimed at humanitarian actors.
Project and information management is essential to ensure the quality of humanitarian projects. Many of the weaknesses which have been identified in projects do not come from a lack of technical knowledge on the part of humanitarian actors but rather because qualitative factors have not been properly taken into account.
Drawing its content from the COMPAS method, the course will cover subjects such as conducting a situation analysis which goes further than a simple needs analysis, project design beyond the logical framework, defining objectives and indicators in keeping with all the project criteria, developing and implementing a system to monitor the quality of a project, the difference between monitoring and evaluation, etc. The course is organised around a case study which gives participants practical experience of quality management and using the COMPAS method and software.

A short course presenting the Quality COMPAS method and the Dynamic COMPAS software programme for quality and information management in humanitarian projects will be held from 6 to 9 November 2007, in Dakar.
This course will be conducted in French and is aimed at humanitarian actors.
Project and information management are key to ensuring the quality of humanitarian projects. Projects have weaknesses not because humanitarian actors lack technical knowledge but rather because there has been a failure to take the qualitative aspects of the project into account.
The course will present the COMPAS method and will cover topics such as situation assessment which goes into more depth than simply evaluating needs, project design which goes further than the logical framework, drawing up of objectives and indicators in connection with the project criteria, the difference between monitoring and evaluation, etc. The course is designed around a case study which gives participants practice in managing the quality of a project and using the COMPAS (method and software).
