Evaluation of Christian Aid's response in 2004 - 2005 to the food crisis in the Sahel (2006 - 2007)
In the summer of 2006, Christian Aid began an evaluation of its response to the food crisis in the Sahel, which covered operations in Niger, Burkina Faso, and Mali. Groupe URD coordinated the evaluation team which included consultants from within Christian Aid as well as from outside it. This evaluation was carried out using the Quality COMPAS©. terms of reference.
This evaluation was in two parts. The first, from October to November 2006, focused on the first phase of the project (August 2005 to April 2006) and on the consolidation phase (June 2006 to February 2007). The second part, which took place in March 2007, was an evaluation of the project as a whole.
The analysis of the evaluation results highlighted the importance of the link between relief and development.

Co-development between Catalonia and Senegal: Lessons to be drawn from 10 years of experience – Evaluation of Migration and Local Development programme (MIDEL) and programmes which preceded it (2004 - 2005)
The book ‘Co-development between Catalonia and Senegal : lessons to be drawn from 10 years of experience’, written by Bonaventure Sokpoh with contributions from Yago Boter, Karla Levy and Georges Jay is largely based on the evaluation of the MIDEL programme, which had two objectives :
- To evaluate projects which had taken place since 1997 in the context of co-development between Catalonia (in Spain) and two rural communities, Saré Coly Salé and NDiossy in Senegal ;
- To carry out an intermediary evaluation of the MIDEL (Migration and Local Development) programme, financed by the European Union and implemented in Senegal by the Fons Català de Cooperació al Desenvolupament.
The evaluation looked at the participation of the population and the role of different actors in the development process in Catalonia and Senegal. It was carried out using the Quality COMPAS© terms of reference.
