- Presentation at the Première Urgence conference in South Caucasus
In the context of its research into food security in crisis situations, Groupe URD was invited to Abkhazia by Première Urgence to present its analysis of the issues connected to economic and agricultural security in frozen conflict situations, in this zone of the Caucasus where Soviet collectivisation was followed by years of conflict and ethnic cleansing, an embargo and the difficult transition to a market economy… After several days of field visits, Groupe URD made the presentation at the Abkhaz University of Agriculture in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture, university staff and staff from numerous international agencies (UNDP, ICRC, ACF, PU, etc.).
