Conference: “Saint-Boniface, 12 ans après”, 9-11 May 2018, Ottawa

Key word: Northern America /

The conference, “Saint-Boniface, 12 ans après” will aim to allow the community of Francophone nations to review their approach and tools in terms of conflict prevention and human security. It will also aim to adopt a road map to put into practice the Saint-Boniface Declaration, which will feed into French-speaking countries’ operational methods. François Grünewald will present some of Groupe URD’s work on crisis management at the conference.

As a linguistic and multi-cultural community, the Francophone community has gradually established itself as one of the main actors in international affairs. Complementing the Bamako Declaration, the Saint-Boniface Declaration, adopted during the Ministerial Conference on conflict prevention and human security (13-14 May 2006, Saint-Boniface, Canada), increases the political dimension of the Francophone community in relation to global issues: conflict, terrorism, environmental crises, migratory crises, etc. Groupe URD will present some of its work on crisis management at the conference, “Saint-Boniface Declaration, 12 years on” in Ottawa on 9, 10 and 11 May 2018.
