Workshops and conferences

The sharing of experiences is the cornerstone of learning between actors. In addition to the dissemination of experiences, the Haiti Observatory aims to promote the integration of lessons and recommendations from evaluations and research by hosting and participating in debates and collective reflection:

  • Organisation of workshops in Haiti to stimulate debate and encourage organisations to improve their practices
The Haiti Observatory organises workshops on emerging topics identified by the team in collaboration with organisations in the field. These workshops provide an opportunity for aid organizations, national institutions and experts to meet. One of the specific objectives of these workshops is to focus on making recommendations operational and establish action plans.
  • Participation in coordination meetings in Haiti and in international conferences to encourage learning in other countries, emergencies and contexts.
Through regular participation in a variety of meetings, the Observatory team shares lessons learned and takes part in debates with aid organizations.
The team also takes part in a few key international events (such as the ALNAP network biannual meeting) to favour lateral learning and promote lessons from Haiti in other countries and contexts.

In France and abroad, Groupe URD organizes other events to allow aid organizations to pool and share their experiences and ideas. Consult all the conferences organised by Groupe URD.
