Context and challenges
While the effects of climate change on weather patterns have already been demonstrated, natural disasters are likely to be greatly amplified by climate change. In light of these findings and with the aim of reducing the vulnerability of people and territories, it is necessary to integrate climate change into the core of natural risk management policies.
The consultation on the National Climate Change Adaptation Plan (PNACC3) and the national commitment to adapt to +4°C demonstrate the ambition to place climate change adaptation at the heart of regional development. But how does this translate operationally for natural risk management, and more specifically into the seven pillars of risk prevention? What links should be established between local risk prevention policies and those related to climate change adaptation?
Objectives of the day
The 2025 edition of the Risques et Territoires conference will showcase examples of local initiatives combining climate change adaptation and natural risk prevention. It will also provide an opportunity for peers to discuss these issues. The day in Aix will be structured around the five priorities of the National Climate Change Adaptation Plan 3. Speakers will share their experiences and present actions and work that illustrate some of the 51 measures in the plan related to risk prevention policies.
Registration deadline: 12 June 2025
Véronique de Geoffroy, Executive Director of Groupe URD, will speak on the theme: ‘Mobilising the nation’s driving forces to successfully adapt to climate change’, and will lead the session:
Mutual aid and citizen mobilisation in crises: a lever for preparing territories.
