To present the findings of the study “Mutual Aid in Times of Crisis”, and in connection with his research on Haiti, Charly Camilien’s presentation focused on “Practices of mutual aid in the face of future ecological and social crises: how can they be linked to the social and solidarity economy?” Insights from the study ‘Mutual Aid in Times of Crisis, 2023–2027’.
In addition to presenting the study “Mutual Aid in Times of Crisis”, the proposal also sought to explore what might explain the limited attention paid by some researchers in the ESS field to these resilient and resistant solidarity dynamics rooted in the territories of countries in the Global South and North.
This proposal was also an invitation to (re)invigorate the concept of mutual aid and its practices within the SSE sector to better envisage the ecological and social transformations of the future.
