CERAH training course: Designing Strategies and Projects for Humanitarian Action

In 2017, CERAH will be running the third edition of a training course in English on designing strategies and projects for humanitarian action. The course will be organized in partnership with several organisations including Groupe URD, MSF Switzerland, UNDP, UNHCR, and the Sphere Project. The course, which is aimed at aid professionals, will run from 13 February to 8 October 2017.

The course content is wide-ranging (including over forty topics) and will be contextualised and personalised based on the needs, professional experience and roles of the participants. The course has 3 components: e-learning, e-coaching and a ten-day residential session in Uganda in April/May 2017. It will include a mixture of individual and group work.

By the end of the course, the participants will have gained the skills needed to design and adapt humanitarian projects and strategies in line with the specific characteristics of each context. They will also be able to provide coherent, flexible and creative humanitarian responses taking into account ethical issues and context prerogatives as well as humanitarian principles and their organisation’s mandate.

The participants will also develop their competencies in analysis and problem-solving, monitoring and evaluating projects, and communicating/negotiating with stakeholders as part of a participatory process.

N. B.: the deadline for grant applications is 15 September 2016.
