Supporting a peer exchange exercise between urban development experts from CAR and Haiti
February-September 2016, for the French Development Agency

Groupe URD prepared and facilitated workshops involving urban development experts from Bangui and Port-au-Prince on issues of post-crisis recovery and reconstruction.

The two capital cities have been affected by large-scale destruction in crisis contexts and have been faced with complex issues of urban and social reconstruction.

Over a number of months, Groupe URD analysed the topic and prepared the discussions. A joint mission took place in Port au Prince in September 2016 involving site visits and workshops.

This peer exchange event was followed by a conference in Paris on 29 September 2016 on the topic of “Post-crisis reconstruction: the future of cities in the South and the role of cities in the North”.
