This high-level regional meeting provides a strategic framework for dialogue and consultation to take stock of project implementation, review progress achieved in beneficiary countries, and define future orientations aimed at strengthening the resilience of agricultural and food systems in the face of climatic, environmental and socio-economic shocks.

Chaired by the relevant authorities, this Regional Steering Committee Meeting brings together representatives of Member States, technical and financial partners, regional institutions and sectoral experts. Discussions focus in particular on the assessment of ongoing activities, analysis of achieved results, identification of operational challenges and prospects for enhancing the project’s impact at the regional level.

Through this second session of the Steering Committee, the RESILAC project reaffirms its commitment to promoting an integrated and sustainable resilience approach, with a particular emphasis on food security, climate change adaptation, regional governance and the involvement of local communities.

The holding of this session in N’Djamena underscores Chad’s central role in the project’s regional dynamics and reflects the shared determination of partner countries to strengthen regional cooperation in support of more resilient and inclusive development. The deliberations of the Regional Steering Committee Meeting are expected to result in key recommendations and strategic decisions to guide the continued implementation of the RESILAC project across the various participating countries.

As a reminder, the Lake Chad Inclusive Economic and Social Recovery Project (RESILAC) is a regional project aimed at strengthening people’s resilience through economic recovery, social cohesion and sustainable land management in the countries around the Lake Chad Basin (Cameroon, Nigeria, Chad).

Co-financed by the European Union and the Agence Française de Développement, the project is being implemented by a consortium of NGOs Action Against Hunger (lead partner), CARE International and Groupe URD, in partnership with CCFD-Terre Solidaire as well as national and local organisations.
