The conference used the Open Space method, an approach which encourages creativity, collaboration and personal engagement and which will allow each participant to take an active role in the debates. All the workshops and presentations has been hold in English.

As part of the Resilience project implemented with CARE Nederland and the Disaster Studies group of Wageningen University, the 8th Autumn School addressed the following issue: “Resilience” - buzzword or useful concept? The aim of this event has been to bring together experts (EC representatives, UN agencies, NGOs or research institutes, etc...), to discuss the issues of resilience over two days. It allowed certain key points to be explored, the results of the research project to be presented and the issues involved in the concept of Resilience to be debated in detail.
