Groupe URD will be making a presentation in connection with the topic “Enhancing food system resilience in areas affected by climate change and other crises”.
This congress follows on from the second international conference on nutrition organised in Rome in 2014 during which a framework for action was adopted and recommendations were made to improve food systems. The countries also made a commitment to eradicate hunger and prevent all types of malnutrition in the world.
In April 2016, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the framework for action and the recommendations made during the ICN2, thereby instigating a decade of action for nutrition from 2016 to 2015, under the responsibility of the FAO and the WHO.
The aim of the symposium is therefore to support member countries technically and thereby help to implement the recommendations made during the ICN2, by sharing successful policies and programmes implemented in recent years.
