What do these objectives mean for the players involved? What tools can be used to bring about a change in practices? Should skills be brought in-house? How can members and teams be made more aware? Should quantified targets be set, and on what perimeters? Is it necessary to calculate a regulated carbon footprint before taking action to reduce emissions? What role can solarisation play in reducing an organisation’s carbon footprint?

To answer these questions, the seminar will highlight three different experiences: Electriciens sans frontières, which develops electricity access projects and supports other organisations in decarbonising their activities through solarisation, Groupe URD, a humanitarian action think tank, and the Humanitarian Environment Network, which it runs to improve the way the environment is taken into account.

The expert speakers are :

  • Tania Chauvin, Senior Project Officer, Electriciens sans frontières.
  • Maddalena Curioni, Project Manager in charge of carbon management, Electriciens sans frontières.
  • Aline Hubert, Environment/Climate research, training and evaluation officer, Groupe URD and coordinator of the Humanitarian Environment Network.

The seminar will be recorded and can be viewed at a later date. No certificate of attendance will be issued.

This Francophonie online seminar (SELF) is organised by Electriciens sans frontières. It is facilitated by the Institut de la Francophonie pour le développement durable (IFDD).
