In April 2017, Groupe URD carried out a study on the environmental impact of refugee camps, funded by the Global Disaster Preparadness Center and the Agence Française de Développement. Two case studies were then carried out in Cameroon and Lebanon.

A presentation is organised on 05 September in Cameroon to discuss the results of this study with the actors present in the field.

The main objective of this study is to raise awareness in the sector about the positive role that humanitarian actors can play in reducing the environmental risks caused by humanitarian crises. As the principle of “Do No Harm” is at the heart of any humanitarian action, the challenge here is to raise awareness of the need to move from environmental policies and strategies to action.
