Groupe URD is studying decentralisation in the G5 Sahel region in the context of peacebuilding efforts in Mali and cooperation between the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (ARA) Region and Tombouctou Region.
Groupe URD will be taking part in the celebrations to mark 25 years of cooperation between the two regions, which will be taking place in Mali on 30 November and 1 December. The ARA Region has been cooperating for many years with several regions in the Sahel, and particularly the Tombouctou Region. The ARA Region’s support to Tombouctou’s institutions, such as the Regional Council, and the support that it provides to NGOs in the ARA Region, are examples of the solidarity and mutual enrichment that are the hallmark of local government cooperation.
