We have up to five seats available, and we are seeking representatives from:

  • National organisations with experience of responding to crises from Africa, the Middle East and/or Latin America.
  • Network/membership organisations involved in responding to humanitarian crises and representing local voices.
  • People with experience of being recipients of humanitarian assistance and who can bring views of disaster affected communities.

The Steering Committee ensures the periodic revision of the CHS, and advises on its development, application and promotion. The Committee decides when a revision is necessary, ensures that the process is inclusive of the many diverse agencies and organisations in the sector, listens to the views of people affected by crisis and builds on evidence from the application of the CHS to date. It consists of up to 12 members, to include geographic, organisational and thematic diversity, and strives for a gender balance. See CHS Steering Committee Terms of Reference for full details.

 

To Apply – Please send a short cover letter of no more than two A4 pages outlining your answers to the questions below to CHSrevision@chsalliance.org  by 15 October, midnight CET:

  1. Why are you interested to join the Steering Committee?
  2. What skills and experience you bring?
  3. How would you leverage other partners or communities to engage in the revision process?
  4. Can you commit to up to six days per year for up to three years to the Steering Committee on a voluntary basis?

Interviews with short-listed candidates will take place in November 2021.
