A study was launched, requested by ECHO, in connection with the Good Humanitarian Donorship Initiative. This study focused on the current practices of a certain number of humanitarian donors with regard to funding allocations, looking at the key factors that determine the extent to which evidence is used, and looking for ways to improve these processes.

The report “Evidence-based decision-making for funding allocations” is now available after more than six months working with numerous donors. Basing decisions on reliable data is essential to guarantee that limited resources are used efficiently and effectively. This is all the more important in the current context of more limited resources and rising humanitarian needs.
