Created in 2022, the Local Solidarity Network met on 30 March to discuss the question, ‘How can we support local actors in Ukraine more effectively?’

Speakers:

  • Olesky Ponikharovskyi, International Relations, Kharkiv City Council
  • Nathalie Chrin, Femmes Ukrainiennes en Europe
  • Adrien Licha, Secretariat Coordinator of the European Association for Local Democracy
  • Jacques Duplessy, Medical Aid Committee

Moderator: François Grünewald (Groupe URD)

After the presentations, the participants discussed a variety of operational questions, such as: What form should collaboration with ‘informal’ local actors take? How can partnerships be established with citizen-based movements? What operational challenges and issues at stake are involved?

The Local Solidarity Network is a discussion forum to promote the sharing of practices and initiatives related to aid localisation.

Groupe URD facilitates these informal meetings about 3 or 4 times a year; the network members propose the discussion topics.
