The 2nd edition of the Paris Peace Forum brought together decision-makers at the Grande Halle de La Villette in Paris on 12-13 November 2019.
Groupe URD took part in the second Paris Peace Forum, which brought together numerous decision-makers from all over the world at the Grande Halle de La Villette in Paris on 12-13 November. This Forum aims to show that despite the difficult context for multilateral projects, it is still possible to promote governance solutions, develop projects and launch new initiatives for peace and security, development, the environment, new technologies, an inclusive economy and culture & education.
Faced with the turbulence that is currently affecting the world, and the further turbulence that could be caused by climate and environmental breakdown, and political and economic upheaval, Groupe URD continues to conduct innovative research on crises to provide support to the stakeholders involved. For the Forum, we contributed to the work carried out on water with the ‘MorewaterforSahel’ initiative in connection with one of the ‘PeaceGames’.

The 6th edition of the Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security in Africa, which brings together a large number of African heads of state and government representatives, international partners, and Peace and Security actors – Dakar, 18-19 November 2019.
Groupe URD was present at the Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security in Africa, on 18-19 November. This forum, which brings together political, military and diplomatic representatives, as well as academics, civil society and development organisations, is an ideal event to promote and share ideas, and also to learn how the ‘Sahel crisis’ is viewed by strategic decision-makers. For Groupe URD, it is an opportunity to share messages from our ‘field-level’ vision of the crisis, based on the many research and evaluation projects that we have carried out throughout the sub-region.
