Groupe URD realises a project with the consultancy e-venture, on the management of extreme events in the Indian Ocean.

This project, which is being carried out for the Indian Ocean Commission, should allow a mechanism to be set up in the region to respond to the large-scale disasters which sometimes affect this area, which is particularly exposed to the consequences of climate change (Madagascar, Mauritius, Comoros, Reunion, Seychelles).

The cyclones which have been hitting Madagascar since the beginning of 2013 and the recent tragedy in Mauritius in March show how important it is for countries in the region to be better prepared to respond to these risks.
