The ACT Alliance is the world’s largest coalition of Protestant and Orthodox churches and faith-based organisations engaged in humanitarian, development and advocacy work. The Alliance has over 150 active members in more than 120 countries, with headquarters in 73 countries. Its members are committed to conducting their activities in accordance with international humanitarian principles and recognised standards of quality and accountability.

 

This pilot testing process for the tool involves:

  • Reviewing the tool’s relevant frameworks and guidelines.
  • Adapting and finalising the testing processes and guidelines, including instructions, scoring or analysis methods, and feedback mechanisms for participating members.
  • Supporting selected local/national members in the region to use the tool on a trial basis.
  • Collecting qualitative and quantitative feedback from participating members on:
    • The clarity of questions and indicators
    • The feasibility of evidence requirements
    • Time and resource implications
    • Perceived relevance and proportionality
    • Alignment with existing organisational systems and donor requirements
  • Facilitate focus groups and/or interviews with key informants.
  • Analyse the results of the pilot project to identify the strengths, gaps, risks and unintended consequences of the tool.
  • Formulate practical and actionable recommendations to refine the tool.
  • Identify the main gaps and propose priority capacity-building interventions.
