The Haiti Observatory realised a study on new trades in post earthquake context in the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince. It aimed, amongst other things, to:

  • Provide an analysis of the employment market in formal and informal sectors, and to present the pattern of professional trainings in Port-au-Prince and its immediate suburbs.
  • Identify the factors and innovating characteristics of the employment market and of the professional training offer market while considering a gender analysis.
  • Identify the potential current sectors that favorise the creation of wealth for men and women, young or not.
