“Evaluating the quality of humanitarian action” training course updated in line with the CHS Compas

On 24-28 April 2017, Groupe URD will be running a training course on “Evaluating the Quality of Humanitarian Action”. The 30-hour course will take place at our training centre in Plaisians (south of France). Registration is open until 7 April.

This training course is aimed at experienced professionals from the international aid sector who are in charge of projects or carry out evaluations. The course will introduce the key concepts involved in evaluating programme quality, and will explore different stages of the evaluation process (such as preparing the methodology, writing reports, etc.). We will also look at other evaluation initiatives and methods for improving the quality of humanitarian programmes.

By the end of the course, participants will know how to identify the most appropriate evaluation tools for different contexts, how to assess the quality of an evaluation, and how to conduct or take part in a “quality evaluation” themselves.

The Groupe URD trainers will share their expertise in evaluation criteria and reference frameworks, such as the DAC/OECD criteria and the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS), and will present the CHS COMPAS, the tool we have updated in line with the changes brought by the CHS.
